Most people developing information websites plan to monetise them using Adsense, but it is a poor long term choice.
Declining Adsense revenues for publishers.  Unfortunately , most publishers are brainwashed into thinking that this is the best choice.

Large scale website development

Interest post on a developed website network.
Moxymedia – 30,000 developed websites. To build a reasonably large network of websites (1000+)  takes a lot of time.  But once you have a network, there is little competition, especially if you can keep your overheads low and don’t depend on PPC for monetisation.

Nearly 2 years ago, I spent a lot of money on domains, but I ‘m glad I did, at least part of the experiment paid off.
